The Summer Youth Production is a long-running tradition that sees young people from all backgrounds take part in a large scale, professional-standard productions on the Theatre's main stage.
Sunset Boulevard
In 2024, the Grand Opera House Summer Youth Production stunned audiences with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s award-winning masterpiece Sunset Boulevard. A journey into dreams and desire in a land called Hollywood, this production included the lush, swelling numbers The Perfect Year, With One Look and The Greatest Star of All.
A 70 strong cast of young people aged 16 to 21 executed to perfection the Theatre's most ambitious youth production to date, Sunset Boulevard. After just two weeks of intensive rehearsals, the cast received rave reviews and standing ovations each performance. Their hard work is a testament to the talent that Northern Ireland's young people have to offer.
Under 16? If you are below the age of 16 and were not eligible to apply for Sunset Boulevard, don’t worry, the Grand Opera House has exciting plans in place for those aged 10-15 years old in 2025. Please keep an eye on our social media platforms for further details.
