Safety & Security
The Grand Opera House has a range of measures in place to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable time at the Theatre.
- On arrival, your bags and belongings will be subject to search by the Theatre’s trained personnel. If you bring a bag, please allow additional time for checks to take place and be aware that the Theatre does not offer cloakroom facilities. Please note that customers are not permitted to bring alcohol into the building, and only alcohol purchased in the Theatre can be consumed on the premises.
- Ticket checks will be carried out by our Front of House team and only ticketholders will be allowed to enter the Theatre. If you wish to leave the building for any reason during your visit, you will receive a pass from our Front of House staff which you will need to present before re-entering the Theatre.
- CCTV is used throughout the Theatre. If you notice anything suspicious, please inform one of our Front of House staff as they are trained to deal with your concerns and will take your report seriously.
- Safety within the Grand Opera House is a priority. The Theatre’s policies and procedures have been developed with a specialist security services provider. The Theatre is responsive to the changing landscape and regularly reviews all safety and security procedures. The Theatre has strong partnerships with neighbouring businesses and all parties work together to keep visitors to the area safe.
